Project 365 Failure

So, my Project 365 attempt was a resounding failure, which is not altogether unexpected. Let's not spend too much time discussing it or feeling guilty - instead, we'll just chalk it up to what Steven Pressfield calls "Resistance." (I'm currently reading his book on succeeding in creative fields - The War of Art. Main takeaway so far? You just gotta do it, and when you don't do it, spending a lot of time thinking about how you didn't do it is just another way of not doing it.)

Instead of dwelling on this failure, I'm just going to post some pictures that cover the last three months.

October: Counting China

For the wedding, we borrowed china from family members, friends, and my great-grandparents' antique shop so each table could have mismatched sets. Two weeks before the wedding we went up to the lake to wash, count, and sort all the plates.

October 27th: Wedding

We met on the pier about an hour before the ceremony so we could have a moment to ourselves. Well, a moment to ourselves and the photographer.

I was worried it was going to rain or be too cold - but the sun came out and it was beautiful. It was a bit windy and cold, but I was so happy/busy I didn't really notice.

My brothers trying to set off hot air balloons.

October-November: Hawaii

Going to Hawaii for our honeymoon = the best idea ever.

We made it to the beach for sunrise almost every morning.

Lava all over the place!

Also geckos all over the place!

November: Fall

December: First Christmas

My grandma got us this "first Christmas" ornament, which is kinda corny but in a good way. My parents have one that we always put at the very top of the tree growing up, so it's nice to have our own to do the same with. My sister-in-law ended up getting us one, too, so we can cover every angle :)

Really I'm pretty sure I took the same number of pictures I would have if I'd taken one every day for 3 months - they're just not spaced out. I have millions of wedding photos, pictures of Clyde, and angles of the Hawaiian sunrise, plus lots of random Christmas moments that I'll spare you from. But there ya go. That makes me feel slightly less like a failure for skipping over 90 straight days of Project 365. Ha.
