I'm in some serious need of mental recalibration, so I'm going to make a list of things that are awesome:
- Couches and blankets and the time to enjoy them
- Dogs that are furry and like to cuddle
- Godiva Dessert Truffles
- The first sunny, warm days of spring after a really horrible winter
- A few unanticipated extra hours to yourself
- Friends and loved ones who don't hate you when you're grumpy
- 70 degree weather
- It's always AT MOST only 5 days till a weekend.
- Plants vs. Zombies
- Tuning the world out
- New underwear
That's all I've got. I was in a funk today -- essentially the mood that started yesterday continued through all of today and I'm not seeing it changing the rest of the week. I am MOROSE and the world is HORRIBLE and people are STUPID and clearly NOTHING GOOD will happen FOREVER. Forget the fact my life is really pretty good and I'm extremely lucky. IT'S ALL HORRIBLE.
I'll snap out of it eventually. I just need some sleep and for this snot in my head to go away.
The good part about today was that I had a couple hours to work outside on the deck, where the sun was actually shining and it felt like spring. It was glorious. During those two hours I felt good about life. Goes to show how winter can bring ya down.
The contractor is coming this Saturday to talk to us about the proposal for finishing our attic / building stairs in the library. I'm so excited to have an office. It didn't occur to me until just this second that I don't have a space that is just my own in this house. Michael doesn't really, either, though he does have a desk. I don't think that has bothered me, not having my own space -- but now that it's occurred to me, it's clearly a problem. Clearly.
My brother and his fiancee are supposed to come over tomorrow for pierogis -- I'm still not feeling great, but we'll see how I feel in the morning. HORRIBLE. IT'S ALL HORRIBLE.
I don't think my mental recalibration worked.
